Kan ou-kan Trinidad and Tobago First Open Day Success


On March 17th, The Public was invited to participate in a Kan ou-kan - Koryu Open Day seminar hosted by Trinidad and Tobago Budokai instructor John Ramirez.

Sensei Ramirez is the authorized Kan ou-kan country representative for Trinidad and Tobago.

Participants were introduced to the three distinct Koryu arts that are part of Kan ou-kan, an organisation headed by Kunio Morimoto Sensei.

Participants were introduced to

Oishi Shinkage Ryu Kenjutsu warm up and drills and the first two techniques of :

Shiaiguchi (試合口)

1. Isshin 2. Mumyouittou

Participants were also introduced to a few of the Shibukawa Ichi Ryu Jujutsu techniques

Kutsugata

1. Oinage

2. Uranage 3. Makigaesi

and also an overview of the history of Muso Shinden Eishin Ryu Iai Heiho.

Overall the participation was engaging and the visitors were pleased with all that was shared and the overview of the history of the Koryu arts, with many indicating that they were very interested in learning more about the arts shared.

This is the first of many public demonstrations to be conducted by Kan ou-kan Trinidad and Tobago.
